IQ:carecompanion is coming soon
Back in July we promised more exciting developments in August, and here is the first of them. IQ:carecompanion, our new carer app, is coming soon.
It is built around the same simple idea as everything else we make: carers should spend their time with the people they support, not fighting with a screen. IQ:carecompanion brings scheduling, visit notes, eMAR and real-time messaging together in one app that is quicker to learn and easier to use on the road.
For office teams, that means fewer calls asking how something works. For carers, it means less time on admin and more time on the visit in front of them. For the people receiving care, it means a more consistent, better recorded service.

We are a Leaders in Care Awards 2026 finalist
We are proud to share that Unique IQ has been shortlisted as a finalist for Supplier of the Year (Home Care) at the Leaders in Care Awards 2026, one of six finalists judged by an independent panel of senior sector figures.
The entry centred on our AI Suite, IQ:careassist and IQ:careaudit, and the difference it makes on the ground: cutting the time to create a care plan from an average of three hours to around seven minutes, and reviewing every visit note and medication record as it is entered rather than at the next scheduled review. Both tools keep a human firmly in control throughout.
It is recognition we do not take lightly, and it belongs as much to the care providers we work with as it does to our team. Winners are announced at the ceremony on 6 October 2026.
Care plans that sound like your organisation
We have also given IQ:careassist a significant upgrade this month, and it goes straight to a frustration many of you have raised with us: AI-generated care plans that are accurate but do not sound like anything your team would write.
You can now choose the narrative perspective before a plan is generated, first person in the individual’s own voice or third person in the traditional record style, and set a tone to match: professional, conversational or directive, depending on what the section needs. These settings carry through to risk assessments too, so a whole document reads consistently rather than as though it was assembled from parts.
Underneath sits something more fundamental. Guidance notes, written in plain English rather than code, tell IQ:careassist how your organisation wants each section handled, right down to how much detail it needs. Every change is versioned, so you can always see which guidance shaped a particular plan and when.

IQ:careaudit and IQ:capture: an update
In July we told you about two tools close to release. Here is where they stand now.
IQ:careaudit’s upgrade to whole care day auditing, bringing together care plans, visit records, clock ins and clock outs, and what did not happen as well as what did, is progressing well through final testing. If you registered your interest, you will hear from us directly as soon as it is ready.
IQ:capture, our care transcription tool, has been through its final pilot stages this month. Early feedback from providers testing it has been encouraging, particularly on how much time it saves after a care plan review or supervision. We are on track for launch, and pilot participants will be first to get access.

Built with you, not just for you
It is worth repeating what we said last month, because it is still true. Our roadmap starts with customer conversations, not a room full of assumptions.
This month, that has shown up in how we have been working with customers on getting more value from AI tools already in the platform, and in the small but steady stream of feedback shaping IQ:carecompanion ahead of launch, and the new writing controls in IQ:careassist. If something would make a real difference to your day, we want to hear it.
Getting ready for show season
You may have seen us mention the Sussex Care Showcase and Care Show Birmingham as ones to watch. Both are now close, and our team is deep in preparation.
Sussex Care Showcase is on 16th September at Brighton Race Course.
We will be on Stand N46 at Care Show Birmingham, NEC Hall 3, on 7 and 8 October, with the team on hand to talk through IQ:carecompanion, IQ:careaudit and IQ:capture in person. If you are planning to attend either show, we would love to see you there.

Looking ahead
September brings the Sussex Care Showcase, then Care Show Birmingham in October, alongside the IQ:carecompanion, IQ:careaudit and IQ:capture launches we have been building towards all summer, and the Leaders in Care Awards ceremony to look forward to as well. There is a lot still to come this autumn.
