What we learned has gone into IQ:carecompanion, a completely reimagined carer app that is currently in final testing.
A carer app, rethought from the ground up
Care software succeeds or fails on the doorstep. If the app is awkward, carers work around it, records go in late or incomplete, and the office spends its day chasing. If the app is quick and obvious, records stay accurate and your evidence stands up when it counts.
That is the thinking behind IQ:carecompanion. Not a new coat of paint, but a genuine rethink of the user experience, built around how a visit actually runs.
A glimpse of what is coming
We are not giving everything away yet, but here is a taste.
- A completely refreshed user experience. Clearer screens, far less hunting through menus, and whatever the carer needs next exactly where they expect it.
- A new way to see the visit. The whole visit laid out in order, so it is obvious at a glance what still needs doing before the carer leaves.
- Sign in without the faff. Quicker, more secure ways to get into the app when you are stood on a doorstep.
- Dark mode. For early starts, late finishes and night visits.

Every one of these changes came from the people using our software on visits every day. We asked, they were honest, and we listened.
