Our CEO & Founder, David Lynes, set-up Unique IQ because he felt things could be done differently. Back in 2003, he saw a way for technology to help businesses manage their remote workforces more efficiently, whilst still being affordable, particularly for SMEs.
Fast forward to the present day, and our tech is an integral part of the operations of hundreds of care and cleaning businesses, helping them achieve outstanding results. Read David's story.
Unique IQ's technology is shaking up the way things are done in care - and it's being noticed. Recent accolades include:

- Best Tech, Data or Software Product for home care, 2020
- 'Innovation in Health Tech' nominee, 2020
- Birmingham Business of the Year, 2019

Unique IQ received venture capital funding from Midven in 2018 which put us on an ambitious growth trajectory - tripling our headcount, doubling our turnover and giving us the ability to attract major new clients.
But it's not just growth at a company level. There are plenty of opportunities to work your way up at Unique IQ - in fact several long-standing, trusted members of our development team (like Bruno here) started out as apprentices.
Some of the benefits of working for Unique IQ include:
- remote and flexible working opportunities
- lovely offices surrounded by rolling countryside
- cycle to work scheme
- regular socials, including the legendary Fat Friday
- Perkbox: discounts and rewards
- wellbeing package
Our core values are important to us, so we take them into serious consideration when we recruit. We look for people who share our ethos and values, as well as being great at what they do.
Typically, a short video chat will be followed by a more in-depth second interview, face-to-face if possible. If it's looking good, we'll ask you to complete a working-style questionnaire, which gives us an indication of how you're likely to interact with the rest of the team. Then if everyone's happy, we'll make you an offer.
Our team is a blend of remote and office-based working, keeping in touch via Slack and Zoom. Each department holds a daily stand-up and we all get together for a full team catch-up once a week.
Using the Scrum framework, our engineering team runs on two weekly sprints, with the standard estimations, reviews and retrospectives.
