Our story our 2021

As 2021 ends, we’re reflecting on some of the milestones that punctuated our year. From new initiatives that have helped us strengthen our team to the massive leaps we have made in our products – it’s been an amazing year at Unique IQ.

Starting the year off by looking after our own

In January, we set out on a mission to improve the well-being of everyone in the business. Spearheaded by mental health champions in the senior team, we launched the Mental Wellbeing Day initiative

This gives our team members some time away to focus on self-care when they need it. And when they come back to work, they’re able to meet with a mental health first aider, who can provide a safe space to talk about what is going on.

Alongside this, we are providing all our employees with access to 1-2-1 counselling sessions, as well as other wellbeing-boosting activities such as online fitness classes, self-development resources and perks.

February saw our first ‘employee of the month’, which was part of a new programme to help us build an even more rewarding and positive culture and shine a light on individual achievements.

Each month every employee gets to vote for a colleague and write a personal message to highlight why they deserve to win the award. Once the votes are in, we celebrate the winner (or winners) in our weekly team meeting and share a roundup of the messages via email. It’s the perfect way to spread positive stories throughout the business and inspire us to go the extra mile in our roles.

Supporting the care sector

As spring came around, we began to put the pieces together to form an in-house Quality Assurance team. Rita Leitao came on board as QA lead and is working hard to build our quality assurance processes. Recently, Rita began expanding the team and we had the pleasure of welcoming Stuart Moody, a Senior Test Analyst.

Keeping an eye on the CQC’s approach to regulation and inspection, April was the perfect time to reveal a revamp of our popular ebook, Outstanding home care. The guidebook helps home care providers understand the ways they can use care management technology to answer the CQC’s 5 key lines of enquiry.

And it didn’t stop there! In May, we took on the challenge of highlighting a decade of digital transformation in domiciliary care, with our original research project – Transform. Looking at 10 years of anonymous care data – we were able to spot trends in digital adoption, how eMAR has grown and made observations about the impact of the pandemic.

The launch of IQ:caremanager

In September, we told the world about our new all-in-one care management system, IQ:caremanager. A culmination of all of our award-winning features alongside new tech solutions to tackle the pains clients felt during the pandemic, IQ:caremanager revolutionises the way we can augment and improve the delivery of care.

We’re particularly excited to give our clients access to all our business tools through a web browser, with an easy interface and data discovery at every step. From themed dashboards that visualise role-based data to AI that surfaces important insights – IQ:caremanager streamlines processes so that our clients have more time to focus on the most important thing – care.

Luckily for us, the launch of IQ:caremanager coincided with the return of in-person home care exhibitions. So, in September and October, we were thrilled to get back out into the world and showcase IQ:caremanager at the Home Care Expo and the Care Show.

After more than a year away from physical events, it felt great to be back! There’s nothing quite like seeing people face-to-face and talking to clients about the things we’re all so passionate about!

New faces and an early Christmas present!

November saw the team grow once again! Welcoming a number of appointments including our new Head of Technology, James Neal, we’re well on our way to assembling a sector-leading development and customer experience team – that has the capability to develop and deliver world-class care management solutions.

As the year came to a close, we were incredibly honoured to receive our second Care Sector Supplier Award for best ‘Management Software’ at a glittering ceremony in London surrounded by our industry peers.

An amazing early Christmas present for us all to celebrate, the award recognises the strength and versatility of our care management software and the way we were able to flex and adapt to the challenges our clients faced during the pandemic.
